As we continue our
discussion and practice of intuition development, I am hearing from many of my readers:
'I am very good with my intuition in (some) areas of my life, but I can't seem to
use it in (this other) area of my life.
Therefore, this column is dedicated to the subject of 'transference:' If you have
the ability in one area, you have the ability - period.
FOR EXAMPLE: Lisa is a dentist. She reports that, since she has been practicing
her intuition development (this journal, this column, beginning January 2001 she
is able to fill her work schedule by doing the following: She thinks about a patient
who has not been in for a while, someone she likes and wants to help stay healthy,
and they call her office for an appointment. She says that it has become so natural
for her, she now relies on her ability to communicate via the 'cosmic internet,'
as I like to call it. She can have a full schedule, or she can have cancellations
if she doesn't want to work so much. Wow. Her business is now easy and fun. She feels
more energized at the end of the day because she is serving people she truly enjoys.
She is now using that ability to enhance friendships in her personal life. She sees
that she is able to enhance relationships in her business practice; so she is expanding
her 'intuition awareness.' It is working in her family too. She created a spontaneous
dinner party for her family by thinking of everyone showing up at the same time -
and they did!
Steve is a great salesman. 'I love talking with people. I love the process of selling,
of finding solution to people's financial planning needs. When I sit down in front
of a prospect, ideas come to me; I just seem to know the right things to say. I am
often inspired by ideas I didn't think of before our meeting.' That is one way his
intuition works for him.
'But put me in a social situation and I am tongue-tied. I am completely inept,' he
said.
Whenever you find yourself in struggle, doubt or worry - in any area of your life,
you are not 'living in the rhythm.' How do you get back into the Rhythm?
Gratitude.
Look for the things you could be grateful for - in regards to the particular situation.
(NOTE: Stubbornness - refusing to be grateful - will keep you stuck in struggle.)
Steve could choose to be grateful for his ability to work with others, his ability
to create rapport and trust. From there, he could begin to imagine his ease in social
situations.
By opting to focus on gratitude, you immediately take your focus off of struggle.
The more things you choose to be grateful for, the further your mind moves from struggle.
Soon, you will notice your thoughts have lightened, and you are beginning to think
of possibilities. Keep finding things to be grateful for until you find yourself
at 'Of course I can.'
Once you are at 'Of course I can' thinking, you will find yourself back in the Rhythm.
THERE IS A POWER IN THE UNIVERSE GREATER THAN YOU ARE. If you don't believe this,
you might as well stop reading right here, because the rest of the article will not
make sense to you.
It doesn't matter what you call this power - The Universal Energy Field, The Great
What-Am, or God - it matters that you believe. (Doing so makes your life so much
easier - trust me on this).
For convenience, I am going to call this power God.
Furthermore, it seems to be helpful to us humanoid life forms to anthropomorphize
this power (hence - guardian angels, spirit guides, and so forth.)
Use whatever terminology and beliefs work for you. I am only interested in helping
you enhance your intuition and your relationship with the God force; you don't have
to do it my way. I want your life to be easier and more fun. Take these ideas, then
use them your way.
As you practice with intuition development, focus on achieving your desired result
- the answer to your question or the solution to your problem. Do not focus on technique.
There is no right nor wrong way to do this work - there is only your way - the way
that works for you.
As you practice, be sure to keep notes, so you can remember and support your own
continuing intuition development.
EVERY PROBLEM COMES PACKAGED WITH ITS OWN SOLUTION. Think about it: A 'problem' gives
us the opportunity to express our creativity - to ourselves and to others. If there
is no solution to the problem, what is the point? There must be a solution, 'I just
have to find it.'
HOW TO FIND THE SOLUTION: Shift you perspective. There answer must be available
- and, oh, by the way - God knows everything. All information is available. So: Ask.
Believe the information is in front of you. Know that you can see it, hear it, or
sense it. Anticipate you answer with a joyful state of mind. Take a risk: Act on
what you think may be the information and guidance you desire.
Something about 'all information is available:' Atoms existed before we humans were
able to prove or see them. DNA existed, too. My Aunt Mary is doing something right
now. She knows what she is doing. That information is available, if I just know how
to retrieve it.
A problem becomes an opportunity to grow and become more. You surprise and delight
yourself by finding the solution. Repeating this process, i.e. living you life, develops
greater self-confidence, too.
Know that whatever information or solution you need is availableÖand you can find
it. First, you need the confidence of knowing it is there; then you need the confidence
of knowing you can find it. And - Of course you can.
When you are struggling, you are "out of the rhythm."
CURE: Stop. Ask for guidance. Go for a short walk. Breath deeply. Enjoy your
surroundings. Ask; believe you will be given the answer; live in joyous anticipation
of the answer; and when it comes, accept the answer with joy and gratitude.
Then email me your magic and intuition experiences. I will include them in my next
book, 'Relying on Magic.'
Getting back to the opening of this article: If you intuition works for you in one
area of your life, you can transfer that ability to any and every area of your life.
Practice. Practice. Practice.
Ask. Believe. Receive. And remember this: Spirit has a great sense of humor. Enjoy!

goal.
